Hi, i have a barco projector (barcovision 708) with the rgb (3-bnc) running with the hdfury2. Will the 5bnc output gives a better image? Wich is better 3bnc or 5bnc? Do i have to buy a transcoder to use it?

Thanks..

There's no difference, its the same signal and besides, your projector doesn't even have 5 BNC's...

RGB simply has the synch signals on the green channel, your only other choice for your particular projector is RGBS, which is the same synch signals, only separated from the green signal... you won't improve your image by going from RGB to RGBS.

So it does, there is still no difference realized in image quality by having the synch separate.

I think you guys all blew the answer to the question. Smile

I'll bet he's running COMPONENT out of the Fury2 right now, and is using the transcoder in the 708. He's asking if the RGBHV output of the Fury will give a better image.

While technically the RGBHV output is a cleaner signal, I'm not sure that you'll see a difference between running RGBHV or component into the 708.

What Misstah Curt said, but,

actually it is a technical issue, and not a subjective one, these days.

Thing is that if your pj has been running with the component input, for the majority of the time since it popped out of the factory, the RGBHV input, if it's all sound and proper, will give you a better color reproduction, and being sharper to boot. More so if your source hardware is made for RGB output rather than component output. Believe it or not, but for the european market manufacturers tend to throw in the component stuff more for fun and profit rather than quality.

Of course if everything is just topnotch it's only subjective, sort of, the RGBHV input can take a bit higher resolution actually and to me that speaks of a tad bit better quality in the components department.

(Beware though, you can actually go completely mental switching between two inputs trying to decide. Shocked )
