It would seem that there are efforts to bring Ghost in the Shell out of animation and into live action. How they gonna get to play the Major and Bateau?

Don't you mean who? I think the author is correct in her first pick!

I'd be worried about the first actresses endowments to fit the costume. Wink

I am beginning to wonder which team you root for if that's what your worried about!! Personally I would modify the outfit to the actress.

While I like Milla in general, I do not think she'd be a good pick as she would bring a cliche to the picture. Also, Charlize ruined Aeon Flux for me. Not that it was a condition that she was 100% responsible for, but she is the figure head for failure of that movie's interpretation of the animated series.

Now, Lena Headey seems to visually soft to be able to pull off a strong character. And, Chiaki Kuriyama seems not to be tall enough (AR's point) to fit the character we have in our minds. I did enjoy Maggie Q in Rush Hour 2, but I am think while she visually can pull off an edgy character she may be smallish like Chiaki.

But we may need to re-reference ourselves as we all think of some of these women as they portrayed other, very human and very alive characters, whereas the Major is DEAD and only her Ghost is running amuck in the system.
