Hi folks,

I've really had no problems with my Sony 1252 PJ until the other day after sitting off for a couple months, I fired it up to hear an awful loud rattle sound coming out of the front near the right side where the power cord plugs in, I thought it might be just a really noisy fan but after adding a drop of oil to the two fans on the back of the power block, it continued to make the noise so it makes me think it is something in the power supply...maybe a component going out?

I am at a loss now of what to check next. I also noticed the warm-up screen text was shaking slightly and never noticed that before.

thanks for any and all advice,

Joe in Kansas City

Just change the power supply. It's most likely a transformer 'singing', and that can't be cured. I should have a spare working supply for $75 plus shipping.
