I don't think that's his first priority.

Yeah, that's one thing. OK, final quiz question before I reveal the truth: What display / screen is this a screenshot of - type and size? No credit for partial answers. Wink

LOL...GJ!

I will start posting screen shots from my cell phone in all the screen shots threads. Should be good for a riot!

I considered posting it over on the a site, saying it's from an 1031 or something, and wait for Prehjan to was eloquent about all the things in it proving the superiority of CRT projectors... the diag lines (moire between the phone display and camera CCD) kind of made that difficult, though. Smile

(Oh, also - it's Iron Monkey. Not sure if that qualifies as a b-movie, but it might be bad. Haven't actually seen it; the shot is a rip from the bluray I got on DVD Beaver (now there's a dirty-sounding site name...).

I bet with 12MP on my D300, I could capture some iPhone shots well enough that after some processing (blur/resample/blur/resample/sharpen or something), I might be able to come up with a ~600-700 pixel wide image that somebody who's... umm... a little gullible... might think is a good screen shot. That would be pretty funny. Might have to try that!

I imagine it's a pretty tricky due the (relatively) low screen resolution on the mobile device.

Yeah, it was tricky. Plus I wanted the fun value of the shot being of my hand-holding the phone!

I was 'honest' and didn't post-process at all, so I could have made it look a lot better with the techniques you mention. I did defocus the camera a little bit, though. If you want to have a go, I'll play along... Smile

It is interesting that Analog immediately thought directview and you called the phone thing (I'm guessing that you guessed Blackberry because I discussed my new phone elsewhere?). At some point you shouldn't be able to tell - I'm guessing it has something to do with bloom off the bright bits due to the high contrast/brightness of the display, particularly on the Bold.
