New to crt and there are lots of choices out there. Wandering which is better for my unit to use ? Old school Faroudja dvp 5000 scaler or fury 2 or moome ext full hd and pros and cons for all.

It all depends on your sources. The limiting factor in each case is the 895, both source converters (scaler/HDMI to RGBHV) blow away what even a new in the box 895 could do.

If you have no analog sources, then the Fury is a no brainer, however if you want to feed the set any analog sources, then the 5000 is a great way to go. You can even run 1080i HD component sources into the 5000, as it will upscale 1080i to something higher, but keep in mind the upper limit of the 895 is 720p.
