Well, so far every potential sale out of town has not panned out, but this one is going to happen or so it seems.

Driving from Vancouver to LA, then flying back to SeaTac from LAX.

Looks like it might happen in 2-3 weeks. My trusty Rav 4 might not make the trip, at least not before I get a new clutch, so I'll drive to Seattle, rent a car, drive to LA, then fly back.

Mandatory stops will be in Chico, Ca to go see Darrell at Hammerheadtech, and San Fran, where my sister lives.

Anyone game for a gettogether?

I figure I can do this in under a week or so. 3 days to drive down, 2 days in LA, then fly back. Time is tight, not not too tight to meet with some friends.

Customs: Where are you going sir?
Me: Oh, to meet some guys I met on the internet.

Mr. Green

I hope the man with the rubber gloves has warm hands and a good sense of humour. Laughing

MMkay, looks like my target is to be in LA for the 13th of Oct, a Tuesday. I'll be leaving on Friday or Sat, Oct 9/10, for a leisurely drive down, with stops in Chico, Ca, and San Fran. Not sure if I'll fly or drive back from LA, it depends on how much crap I buy (hopefully none (hah!)), or I'll drive back.

Post here if you want to meet up.

I'd love to meet up with you for dinner or something. Keep me posted if you're meeting anyone else as I'd love to finally meet some of the others and see their setups. All this time and I may get to actually meet the legend.

I'm renting a car. Looks like I'll head to Tim's in Scottsdale post LA, as there's a G90 I'm buying there. Smile

So probably a subcompact heading to LA, then to Scottsdale, then renting a small SUV to head home.

Gotta be in LA on Tuesday the 13th, and I want to be home the following weekend, so I'll spend a 1/2 day there, then I'll drive home.

I'll be coming to SF on the Sunday I'd think. Gotta stop in Chico, Ca, then to San Fran. PM me your phone number. If you know of a few CRTers in the SF area, maybe we can all meet for dinner? Ditto for the LA peoples?

You know Colorado is really pretty this time of year? (Actually it's pretty ANY time of the year but that's beside the point Mr. Green ). The aspens are changing and there's snow on the high peaks. It's only another 13 hours from Scottsdale, AZ. Rolling Eyes Hell! You might even get to use the 4WD on that rental SUV. Shocked There's 2 - 6" predicted for the mountains on Thursday. There's at least 4 CRTers close by. I'm sure we'd all chip to buy you a beer. Wink

If it was just me and I didn't have a fiance and kids and dogs and cats and pigs to deal with, trust me, I'd do a month long road trip. I love driving, and can't wait to see the faces of the car rental company when I return the car from about 6 days of driving and 4000 miles on the car. Very Happy

I am taking the Canon camera that I bought off Clarence, and I'm sure to come back with awesome shots. I've only driven as far as the Oregon coast, and it's been 1977 since I drove with my parents to Arizona and Utah.

Now there's a generous offer if ever I've heard one. Laughing
