So as you have seen in my "Beta Makes Me Smile" thread I am looking into repairing my old camcorders.
I have a Canon L2A here, it's Hi8 and has an interchangeable lens system. Including the EOS adaptor to use any of the camera lenses. SO I'm thinking of getting the body fixed.
I'd really like to find one in better condition and get it re caped though.
There is a man in Indiana that does service them.
Does anyone have a working one or a low hour L2 laying around?

WTF must your house look like, a electronics museum? My place is mess with crap I've accumulated over the years. I can’t imagine buying more.

I've been known to have a stack or two of VCR's, CRT monitors/TV's, PC's, printers, audio gear etc....

Funny you should mention that....
I had a stack of disassembled VCR's. My Balcony door blew open in a winter storm. I woke up freezing so I stumbled out bleery eyed in the dark to close it. I got the top VCR case between my toes, tripped, took a header into the door and closed it hard. I fell asleep for a second too.
I smashed my knee ( which amazingly fully healed ) BUT the worst part, I damaged one of the classic top loader Betamax's. It was a non functional unit but still looked nice sitting there.
