I have simple setup. DVD player and Cable box connected to the inputs of a Sony DH500 receiver via component video in. These are connected via component out to a Viewsonic PJ550 projector (with component in, s-video in, and RGB in via DB.) I recently have been using an AppleTV so I purchased an HDFury2 (FW 1.51 with blue QC sticker) so that I could connect to the project via RGB input.
I connected the AppleTV via one of the HDMI inputs of the Sony receiver and the HDMI output to the Fury2 into the projector via the provided VGA cable. When I first started the setup the blue light came on, but all was black - no video. Then and a few times within the first five minutes, I saw a picture for a second then flick away - then to black. Now, there is no blue light and the projector sees no input.
I tested the HDFury2/Projector direct to the AppleTV and it worked great - but it is extremely HOT!
Any ideas on why this sequence would happen. I did not see anything on Sony's site.
thanks

Do you have the power supply connected?

No, have not used the power supply in any case (even when it worked directly connected to AppleTV). I will try that. Also, is the extreme heat normal for the HDFury2? I read that the FuryHD got very hot.
