I recently had the carpeting changed in the theater room and used this opportunity to change out my D50 with about 5000 hours for one I had with around 1800 hours. I also installed a new receiver with hdmi inputs. Everything worked fine for the first few days and then my son started complaining that the picture would come off and on while playing PS3. I took a look at everything and saw where the light on my HDFury 1 was coming on and off while the picture went on and off. I disconnected the hdmi cables from my receiver and put them back through the hdmi switch that I used with my original setup. Problem was still there. I figured my HDFury was bad so I ordered a HDFury2 with GammaX I just installed the new HDFury2 and am having more problems. When I tried to take the hdmi through my receiver the picture jumped around quite a bit so I put the hdmi switch back inline. When I watch HD satellite the picture will be alright for awhile and then go off for a second and back on. When I try to view the PS3 I can get nothing but static unless I set it for 480i. I will get a picture at 480i but it starts jumping around and on and off. As soon as I try to set it to 1080i I get static again. Everything worked fine before with the hdmi switch, HDFury1 and my original projector so I am starting to think there is something going on with the new projector. I have tried both RGB and Ybr settings on the HDFury2 and projector. I am currently using the video in and that seems to work fine for both the PS3 and satellite. Is there a board I can try to swap out on the projector? I have my original plus a parts machine in the attic.
Thanks
Dan

I have not been into the guts of the projector in over a year. Do I need remove a bunch of stuff to get to this board or should it be a relatively easy swap out?
Thanks

Funny you should say that. I haven't been into mine in over a year either. I can't remember.
I think it was fairly easy though.

Try the easiest thing first. Swap in a new HDMI cable. My cable was only 3 months old and went bad. I have now spent money on MP upgrades just because this cable was bad. Not a mistake on my part [the upgrades] but if I had found the cable first I never would have gone to see Mike and Fell in love with the picture on his Marquee.... and well I just had to have it sooo...
Check the Cable.

It sounds like an HDMI problem to me. I have seen similar problems before. What kind of recevier did you buy (make/model)?

I am bypassing the receiver right now and using a hdmi switch and the problem is still there. I also put my old receiver back in as the new one was having problems. I am going to connect my spare PS3 directly to the HDFury2 at the projector tonight to see if the problem still persist. If so I will swap out the video board from one of my spares to see if that resolves the problem.
Thanks
Dan

Sure enough it turned out to be the 35' hdmi cable between the source devices and the projector. The carpet guys must have bent the hell out it while laying the carpet where it comes out of the floor. I went ahead and moved the HDFury2 back to the source devices and am using the 5 BNC cable to the projector until I have time to reinstall a new hdmi cable. What was throwing me was it worked fine for 3 days before the problems started. At least this made me upgrade to the HDFury2 and GammaX. That GammaX makes a huge difference.
