Anyone know what's up with that? The 808 should have way more than enough bandwidth to do 1080p48, and I know the optical / electronic setup is good enough if it can resolve 1-on-1-off vertical bars at 1080i72. I'm running VGA to a Gefen VGA extender to RGBHV on Port5. The Gefen ought to have more than enough bandwidth for what I'm throwing at it, and it's a short run at that - less than 25' all told and only 20 with the extender!
Any ideas? It seems like I'm being shortchanged here... is there any way a flawed magnetics setup could result in it being easy to resolve at i72 but not i96 or p48? That certainly doesn't make any sense to me, but I also don't see why my signal should be that compromised...

Did you used same porch settings for all those resolutions?
I use 1080i96 in my BG808s and it resolve it nice. I have also tested 1080p72 and got decent result. (could still see 1:1 lines)
Test straight from pc to port5.
Check if raster is moving when you adjust electrical center focus from 0 to 100. If it doesn't your magnetics are fine.

The raster moves a little bit, but the spot shape and focus are pretty good. Like I said, 1-on-1-off verticals are clearly visible at 1080i72, so I don't think it's the astig blooming out to the side or something.
I'll try to do a more direct test. I haven't run it without the extender since I redid the astig and optical, so maybe that's my bottleneck. Now if only I get into that HDFury beta program....
