I decided it's time for a new computer. It's going to be running everything video to my 1272 and audio to my stereo through the s/pdif. Just wanted to see if anyone has any comments about parts, etc. Last time I was putting one together was when the 6600gt was all the rage for CRT's, I don't know if there are any similar preferences currently. Thanks for any help and input.

Not sure about the new crop of Nvidia video cards but I thought the ATi were better in the HTPC arena.

No Blu-ray? The only other thing I can see I would do is get at least a 1GB or higher...HD takes up huge amount of room...The price difference between a 640GB and a 1GB is so small its hardly worth talking about...I just got (2) 1.5GB Samsung drives for $99.99 each shipped. I would stay away from Seagate but WD, Hitachi and Samsung are fine.

Video cars I'm bias towards ATI however I haven't tried a Nvidia card in a year so they are probably ok.
