I'm watching Renaissance (2006) right now on IFC. The scenes that are in black & white (and I do not mean anything in between) is making a mockery of the Samsung HDTV in my office. Every B/W edge is a revealing sign of the limitations of digital displays. Every fine B/W contrasting line (detail) highlights the limiting conditions of fixed pixel displays. But, I bet ANSI CR rules, here.

Here are some Google images.

Note, I should adjust my comments about nothing in between B & W. There are clips of crayola moments, but this should be confused with traditional Black through White colorations.

Wow, that looks kick-ass. Looks like it's not available in the US, though. Looks like you can get it from Amazon.fr if you can read French.

I'm going to have to try to get it.

I'm confused why you're saying it's making a mockery of a digital display... You mean absolute black?

"Every B/W edge is a revealing sign of the limitations of digital displays."
Every leading edge revealed the individual red, green, and blue pixel structures. Not as bad as my observing DLP rainbows, but it was like a coloring book where the lines to separate the spaces were formed by twisted RGB stripes.

Hey, for those of you still with HD DVD players, there is a German version. The DVD is available at Amazon, but I do not buy DVDs anymore..
