I sold three custom 9500LC sets to an institute in Amsterdam. I extended the CRT wiring by 3' on each tube, and two sets have fast recovery P43 phosphors in them, and each tube fires onto a different screen. Other than extending the wiring, the sets are stock.
They've had some intermittent issues with the sets; tubes dead, tubes too bright, etc.
They want to fly me over for a service call, and I'm happy to go, but I'd like to save them some money and find someone closer to them if possible. I've got no problems sending parts over ahead of time, probably 100% spare boards. I'm guessing most of the problems are loose connections in the video chain, it doesn't seem that there are component failures.
I'll email them back, but as I said, anyone closer to them with MArquee experience would be good.
Thanks!

Are you nuts? Go! The Netherlands rocks... I've been all over the joint in my job (10+ cities in the US, Canada, and Helsinki/Stockholm/Budapest/Mumbai/Taipei and some others) and Amsterdam and the Hague are close to the top of the list for places I'd like to revisit. If I were you, I'd go to Amsterdam, stay an extra day, and try to spend a day or two in Stockholm. It won't be quite as neat as it was when I was there (Last June 21, so it was light almost all the time) but it's a really cool city. Expensive, though.
Anyway... I got sick of traveling in a hurry, but .nl is a pretty cool place. Plus, the trance producers are second-to-none!

PS: I HATE HATE HATE trance music. I might change my mind if I dropped some E, but I don't do that stuff.

Yeah, but what have you listened to and for how long? There's a ton of different genres - if you've just heard a few minutes of one genre, it's like listening to 5 minutes of Norwegian thrash metal and proclaiming that you hate rock. Try doing a search for 'A State of Trance' on shoutcast - or anywhere, really. It's a radio show done by Armin Van Buuren - he doesn't write all of the tracks, but picks the ones he spins, and the stuff is often really brilliant.
It's certainly possible that you just don't have an ear for ANY kind of trance music, but it runs a wide gamut, just like any other broad genre, so don't dismiss it too quickly. I can't stand DJ Tiesto, but love Armin - and they're even pretty similar, technically.

Isn't Spotmatic in the area? If he couldn't help, maybe he knows someone.

Craig Rounds travels there all the time. You may want to check with him.

Contact Reinier Bauer, he did/does mostly Barco's, but he did some full reconditioning on one or several Marquee/Vidikrons as well. This sounds like the special job he still would warm up to.

Hi Curt,
I'm always in for a nice CRT-job. Would be good to check out the setup. Maybe I can borrow some Marquee parts locally first if required. Don't mind going overthere 'just to have look' and actually see what's going on. Oh, and I do live close by. Maybe this friday?

I have some parts availeble from my two test chassis. Curt can borrow them for a good discounts on the MP mods he's going to sell in the future
