Silly me
The unit was working when i pulled it from the ceiling 5 months ago - no issues
We pulled the house from the market - so i get the HT back (was staged as a Bedroom)
Was set up as ceiling mount front projection
Now - Table mount Front projection -
Input
Port 5 input - RTC 2200 - cable
1080i/720p res
Units turns on
finds the correct source
projects an image -
Turns off after 1-2 mins
Tries to restart - the leds - all light up - it powers back down
I have turn it off by the power switch as it will not respond to the remote
after a few mins of being off - it will do the same thing
- I have not tried any other ports yet - i had always run port 5 or port 3 prior.
SO - any suggestions
thanks

Check the power button on the keypad (standby). If it's sticky, it could be intermittently connecting, and shutting the set off. Disconnect it and use the remote to make 100% sure.

It seems to be doing better -
Would this be an issue of caps that have complete gone away due to the storage (mini storage)
??
I will keep playing with it - and see if it gets better

Unlike an AMPRO
The Barco seems to have fixed itself - (Hopefully)
I have had it on for 15 + mins. It had forgotten the memory settings - when it was shutting itself down - now it has the memory blocks and goes straight to the last setting -
I might have to mark this one up to a wierd storage electronic thingy (are you not glad that I am now in charge of developing the electronic control boxes for the T700 engines - lmao)

Further info -
So i moved it slightly - to level it out with the wall - it went back to the cycling on/off -
I will pull the board and check them out again - sounds like some kind of loose connection/ board some place.

Will work on it more when I get back to the house -
It does act like wire/short somewhere - maybe it is just pissed that i put it in storage.....

That'll learn ya.
THe fact that it was throwing an image means there's no problem in the actual set per se, I'd expect a pinched wire, maybe a bad convergence tray, a stuck remote button. A major error like a scan fail will shut the set down usually within 10 seconds or so. I have never had a bad cap shut the set down after it's throwing an image.

My 808 was behaving strangely when we first fired it up.
It would run with the CPU tray closed, but not open. But all the connections looked fine.
After a while it came good (as did the red drive level - it started with high brightness, but low output).
I guess the caps just needed some volts through them to get them working reasonably well again.

Hey Curt-
Would a wonky wire going to the front camera cause any of this (?) - it has been the only wire found that has kinks in it.
It is currently up and running - that wire is disconnected ATM.
Spoke too soon - just cycled
I just swapped out the main power cord - (6 foot) to a different plug. Will see about that

OK - went for 20 mins now.
Cycled - twice -
comp shows 1 - 5-6 solid led -
3 -blinks -
stopped cycling -
responded to remote to turn on
did not -
now 1-3-5-6 are solid

Hi Pete,
Two things you could check (beyond reseating boards) would be the 110>220 jumper
plug on the power input board under the side cover (look for corrosion in the connector&pins),
and especially have a close look at the AC power connectors and jumpers to the main switch
down on the motherboard. These are a litle bit buried under fans etc, but I have seen
the wires/connectors fried/burnt, which could have been caused by corrosion or a bad crimp.
""I am now in charge of developing the electronic control boxes for the T700 engines"""
Tell us more.....!

I did not see any obvious signs of corrosion -
but the PJ was on for a solid 2 hours last night.
So after i get the screen back up and a "new" green installed its football season.
