I was looking at the “Electrohome Marquee Clone” list and see that the Vidikron Vision 2 was based on both the Marquee 8110 or 8500.

Does anyone know the date/year that the switch from being based on the 8110 to being based on the 8500 happened?

Hello

That sounds like a mistake; Vision Twos were always 8500s; the Vision Three was an 8110.

Thanks for the reply Tim,

One more “Vision Two” question for the experts. It looks like there were several different cases that came on the Vision Two. I have a Vision 2 case on my 8500 AC and it is a 4 piece case (Front, Top/Sides, back input cover and the front power supply cover) but it looks like there is also a 6 piece case (link below). They look similar with the difference being that on the 6 piece case the sides and the top are separate pieces while the sides and top are one piece on the 4 piece case. Was one of these cases for the Vision 2 and one for the Vision 3 or did they change the case design at some point?

most likely they simply changed the design. I had a 1997 V3 here with 6 piece case. The 8110 and 8500 are identical AFA physical dimensions are concerned. The V1 is also except for lens spacing, the bigger LC lenses are further apart.
