I have an ECP 4000 sitting in my basement. It was hook up to the power all the time. Recently the unit was suddenly start up by itself! I was trying to power off it by pressing the red button on the remote but didn't work. It just give 'duck..duck...' sound. So i end up pulling the power cable off from the wall recepticle. When it start up by itself, all the green light at the deflection regulation board was on, but there are no light from the projection tubes! I was a bit worry about fire safty so i just unplug it now. However, i am concern about the dallar chip will lost the set up information from not being recharging. Any help?
Thanks.

It could be a bad LVPS or a bad Dallas chip I'd say. Also possible is that the IR sensor or the keypad is sending signals down the data line while off, but I doubt it.
