A guy from work wanted me to install Ubuntu on his old Sony PCG-F650. I can't get the HDD to recognize at all. I don't have another to test with and I don't feel like spending much. This one is 15gig, so anything in this range is fine.
Probably not wanting to spend more than $20.
Anyone have some old junk lying around?

I thought about getting an xbox HDD or something. Would that work?

Greg,
Try calling a couple of the small computer repair shops in your area - they probably have a bunch sitting around. Most everybody here that might have one laying around are like me and probably want to keep it for the very reason you want one - because it's handy to test, move files, whatever.
