|
|
Hello all,
Since you helped me out with my previous (stupid) question, I hope you can help me again.
I recently bought a Barco 701S and also got a Magic Barco Interface for free along with it.
I have connected the Barco using the s-video connector to my dvd player and xbox (not the 360, but the old one) and this works fine.
However, because the resolution is only 768 x 546 (correct me if I'm wrong), the image is not as nice as it could / should be.
When I connect a pc to the Barco using the Magic Barco Interface I am able to get to 1024 x 768 max.
Any higher and the Barco says "input no longer available".
When i read this forum I see resolutions used with this beamer up to 1080i (1920 x 1080) - which means I can use my pc to upscale dvd's ... ?
How can I achieve this resolution? I have a bunch of cables etc... I simply do not know how to use them I guess
Thanks again,
Sven aka N00B
ps. No money to buy a fancy up-scaling device or something ...
Edit... Just found out that if I choose source 93 I can go up to 1280 x 768
I don't even know that these "sources" mean... because when I select source 3 it says "input no longer available".

Hi,
To achieve 1080i you will need to use a software called Powerstrip and select a 10801 resolution. Remember to select negative sync (which means removing the positive sync ticks). Your results will vary depending on your operating system and graphics card. Some cards don't support 1080i.

Hi
I would use a straight vga to bnc cable and connect it directly to the projector, i'm not sure about the input number. Powerstrip is freeware so just download it and give it a try.

Thanks
Last question for now...
As I will buy a ney vga to bnc cable, do I need to buy one with 3, 4, or 5 connectors? (for sync etc?)

I have only used a 5 bnc lead with the two syncs joined together using a T connecter (as there is only one sync input). You might be able to get a 4 connector bnc lead (with the syncs already joined), I have never tried so I dont know.
Just to recap you should have:
red
green
blue
Vsync + Hsync
