1) Which way should the (standard-box & brackets) factory mount brackets be attached?
Should the slots face toward the lenses or the rear?
i.e. Is the center of gravity, when hung, toward the lenses or the rear?
2) Can the handles be used to lift it up, ala Clarence's 4 chain method,
to the mount on unistrut?
(I hope so, I bought 32 ft. of chain, s-hooks and eye bolts!)
Thank You in advance, I have poured over all the info I have.
I have replaced 2 tubes & done all setup and hookup my self.
I am using a Key Digital Leeza running 1080P DVI output to a 1st generation HD Fury.
It works gr8 for me!
I just need to get the beast up!
Robin

1. NFI, test it for yourself.
2. Yes.

Mark,
Thank you for the only reply to my nervous questions.
The NEC handles were indeed up to the job.
As far as the mounting bracket orientation-
I went with the bracket slot facing the lenses.
Once the projector was up, that turned out to
be the right choice for me =
it was very easy to adjust the down angle.
Thank you so much for taking the time to reply.
My friends are amazed I mounted it all by myself w/o any physical help.
This was a major accomplishment for a lady about to turn 60!
I now have lots of floor space- whoopee...
Robin

Good job! I had myself and two other people to help lift mine to the ceiling.

Sorry for the terse reply before.
I've very impressed. No way known could my Mother or Mother-In-Law change a tube and ceiling mount a CRT projector.

My som in law helped me lift mine 2 ladders up to my nine foot ceiling, that was kind of scarey and dangerous I might add!!!
Slot forward worked for me.
Great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It sounds like she is from the original post. Outputting 1080p via DVI from the Leeza. The XG-110 probably has just the bandwidth to do it but I wonder what refresh rate she is using. My XG-852 will do 1080p but it requires special timings from a scaler and I don't have the bandwidth to do it at 72hz the way I would like so it has visible flicker.

Hello,
I am running a 60 HZ refresh rate on the 1920x1080A resolution setting.
The 1920x1080B setting had purple-ish blooming on image edges-
it drove me crazy for a while=LOL.
On the Leeza the only other refresh rates available (@1080) are 48 & 50,
I have never tried them.
My inputs to the Leeza are all set to 1080i output from each source,
SciAtl 8300HD DVR - Toshiba HD-A3 -Samsung DVD-VR375, via hdmi to a
JVC RX-402B receiver -hdmi/dvi into the Leeza.
(audio is all toslink and digital coax)
BTW-
The Samsung DVD-VR375 does allow viewing upscaled VHS tapes w/o judder, etc.-
not real pretty but w/o external TBC- must be built in I guess. I lucked out!
(a purchased Panasonic AG-1980 was NO help at all)
The PJ source info shows:
fh 67.44KHz
fv 59.94 Hz
Sync HD (+) VD (+)
I may not be doing all this right and it did take the latest firmware update
on the Leeza to get it all happening for me, as well as some tweaking of the
Leeza via the RS-232 connection via hyperterminal-
with a really old Pc- a DIGITAL RESEARCH running Windows 95!
...I started out on Macs...
My current diagonal measurement is about 132" on a Behr Ultra white wall-
which needs a sanding and another coat or two of paint.
I still need to do a re- focus/ toe-in of lenses since it moved a bit closer-
I admit to cheating and and using the electronics to get a watchable image.
I had some instability of the built- in alignment screens when I 1st fired up the pj in it's
new (upside down) position- it lasted about 1/2 an hour then stabilized -???
It fires up stable now though.
Yes- someone old enough to be your mother or grandmother CAN do this-
change 2 tubes- bleed all 3- Pro-Gold all the connectors,....
But ONLY with all the help and info from this great website!
In my case- I never had children and 2 divorces have taught me to do it myself!
Thanks to all,
Robin
