I've had a D50 for about 9 years driven by a variety of HTPC's. Current HTPC is hiccuping and I'm thinking it's time to do away with HTPC maint and just get a decent DVD Player. Proj is about a 25' RGBHV run from equiprack. Thinking about Sony S550 > HDFury > Box1040 Lite > D50.

Any commentary on equip choices, this being the right route to go, and thoughts on quality diff from HTPC appreciated.

Thanks,

Welcome to the forum.

I have an S550, an HDFury a Box1020 and a D50 though I've never run all of them together.

You'll do fine with the BDPS550----HDfury1-Box1040===RGBHV==D50 just remember to set your S550 for 1080i.

You'll need to redo your setup if you haven't run 1080i before. That's not too hard on the D50.
