Hi folks can anyone help out with the following symptom?
Both H and V fail LEDs are lit and i have an F3 error code.
Happened when i rebooted my HTPC, with the projector on.
I have a parts unit with a limited number of known/believed good, parts to swap but i don't want to start wapping without guidance. Did that once and ended up with some duplicate, known bad parts and a $300 repair bill.

Thanks
Bill

Swap the H deflection board first. If that's not it, then it could be the LV power supply under the tubes. If not, then it could be both the deflection and power supplies. I can repair both at under $300. Smile

Chances are you might have overshot the H resolution of the set while rebooting the computer, that's a no-no with the 6 Pg, as they self destruct within seconds If the H frequency is over 60Khz. Bad NEC design! Sad

...oh oh that smell, can you smell that smell?

It was door number 1 curt, The unit is back up and running.
The picture geometry held together but i have to do some tweaking to get the convergence back. Also, the picture was split and shifted to one side at turn on. This moved back into place slowly as the unit warmed up.
Didn't do that with the original deflection board.

I think at this point I'd sooner upgrade to a better projector than spend money on repairing spare components.
What can you recommend, that will mount in the same spot at the 6pg. I don't really want to mess with the acoustic ceiling tiles.
What would it cost to ship to the Toronto area?

Thanks!
Bill

Get either a 9 PG Xtra or an XG, that has the same remote and mounting bracket. I've got a low hour (1200) Runco 930 (9 PGXtra) with no wear for $1600 CDN plus about $275 shipping to Mississauga, or I've got a bunch of XGs here with zero tube wear for about $2K or so.

I price my sets in USD, but since you already have the remote and bracket (I assume), I can change them to CDN $$.

Cheers!
