So, this came up in a Fine Home Building forum thread. One of the guys noticed in Casino Royale some misgivings regarding the construction job site. And while I commend him on his observation I thought I was the only one that noticed this, or at least on the FHB forum.

Then I got to watching Magnum Force, which is the second Dirty Harry movie.

In the first killing scene. There is a camera mounted on the right side of the cops motorcycle. When he pulls the Caddy limo over, he parks the motorcycle parallel behind the limo. But when the cop leaves the scene, after doing the dirty deed, the motorcycle is parks perpendicular to the limo.

In the second killing scene, the cop uses a machine gun to mow down all the folks at the pool. Yet, the last scene before the cop leaves the scene there is someone still standing (far left side). I doubt the bullets pinned the person up. Smile

I am now wondering if there isn't a person that is ever employed in film-making to check continuity beyond the story.

For the Dirty Harry pool scene did you see the movie in the OAR? I've seen some weird stuff in the scene when aspect ratios get changed.

Well, now that you mentioned it, I didn't bother to note if the OAR had changed from the films original presentation to that of what was on the Blu-ray disk.

Wife and I watched the Blu-ray version of Ghostbusters last night. It looked pretty good. The last scene in the movie showed Dana Barret and Louis Tully with marshmallow on the tops of their heads. How is this when they were effectively cocooned in crispy Terror Dog skins?

It is the Script Supervisor (nicknamed "Continuity Person") that does this. They are supposed to head off all issues in pre-production, but they miss stuff all the time due to the fact that movies are shot out of sequence, second unit stuff and first unit may have issues, actors may put down something at a break and not notice, etc.

The also prepare the as-read redline of the script for the editor prior to the start of editing.

Yup. You often see it with drinks: Two people talking, each with a drink in their hands where the amount of drink left in the glass goes up and down as they cut back and forth. Wink
