What are some of the favorite clips all of you like to use to test those ultra low black levels? I was remarking to my wife Friday night when we watched Dirty Harry again on Blu-ray. I commented during a scene in which Harry calls a pedestrian a Hammerhead, get's out of a car, walks down a dark alley, and climbs onto a trash can. In this scene some guys kick Harry off the trash can and start beating on him. Nice dark scene.

Just watched Valkyrie blu-ray. Lots a of dark high contrast scenes in it, and a very entertaining movie. I have notice a ton of recent trailers that are filled with FTB shots also. This seems to be the latest fad in trailer, and are just the ticket for showing off what a CRT can do.

darinp2's favorite test scene is the scene with Wormtongue and Eowyn in chapter 20 of LOTR:EE, The Two Towers. See e.g. this article. Wormtongue's black coat turns into a black hole if you don't have good dark detail.

There is a scene form Three Days of the Condor in which Joubert and Leonard Atwood are walking down the street at night with street lights on. The lights create a white light and the dark sky a black void.
