...particularly one with the short component video cable extension.

I have mine hanging from the back of my TV (Hitachi 61" rear projection.) I use two cable ties; one wrapped around the HDMI cable at the back end of the HDFury and one around the cable that turns into the component cables at the other end. This makes for a very touchy setup, and whenever I have to move the TV (not often, but lately, because of problems with my DVD, quite a few) the HDMI cable connection to the HD Fury sometimes gets dislodged. The component ends are so short, I can't just lay the HD Fury on something. That would immediately cause stress at the HDMI connection.

I've thought about buying some cable extensions for the component connection, but that's another connection of many already in the path, and I know more connections cause loss of signal. Not to mention the fact I'm not sure the cable I could buy would handle the signal or cause even more loss.

How does anyone else handle this?

Most peopl ejust let it hand off the TV. You can certainly add an extension to the component cables I have mine set up with RCA to RCA couplers and a 12 foot component cable. It looks fine. I've also tried it through a switcher no noticable loss of detail.

You can get the cable locally or buy one here for less: http://www.bluejeanscable.com/store/component/index.htm

You may be able to email them and order the cables with the female RCA ends one one end of the cable. Then you wouldn't need the three couplers.
