I've searched here, and on the net for a place to get unistrut in the GTA and can't find anything. I've gone to HD & Lowes and they don't have it.

Home Depot. They will have no idea what you're talking about, go check in the electrical section. Here, it's on an end cap of one of their aisles. Several types of Unistrut and the hardware associated with it. Or go to www.unistrut.com for a location, but beware, buying from the manufacturer is about 3X the price of Home Depot, go figure. There's a big Unistrut warehouse here in Coquilam, BC, I haven't gone to them in years..

GTA=Grand Theft Auto
GTA=Greater Toronto Area.

I laughed my azz off when they amalgamated the cities and named it that back in 1997

No Mississauga told Toronto to F'k U! and went there own way. Much to their credit. Brampton's just north of Mississauga. They are their own city too.

Metropolitan Toronto was comprised of 6 cities prior to the amalgamation

Toronto ( downtown ), North York ( uptown ), Etobicoke ( West ), Scarborough ( FarEast), East York (south West of Scarborough ) and York ( sandwiched between Toronto and North York ).

80+% of the people hatted the idea of amagamation and today we are far worse off then when it was 6 seperate cities. We have one dead-brained socialist mayor that likes to raise the councels salery (2x 16% eacxh time! ) and then add fee's to every g'damn thing in the city as well as the new $60 license plate registration fee and the swell $60 parking tickets with service charges.

I miss the old cities. It was a much better system. You can't get anything done now.

</end rant>

Well, I just got back from Home Depot for the 2nd time, and they don't have it. I scoured the store, and even asked one of their associates, all I got was a blank stare. I checked Home Hardware as well, and they don't got it either. I only need a couple pieces, and the factories are a little out of the way.

Has anyone in our lovely mega city had any luck finding it anywhere?

Try a professional lighting store. They use it to hang lights with all the time.

I had the same experience at Home Depot in Waterloo, ON - a blank stare from a few associates. I took a good look around and didn't find it anywhere so I am positive they don't carry it.

You may have luck at an electrical supply house. Is there Torbram Electrical Supply (http://www.torbramelectric.com/find_location.html) near you? They carry Unistrut here in Waterloo.

Cheers,
Dan

There's a large Unistrut dealer down by the Darlington nuclear plant. Name escapes me, but they'll cut to size for you.

Not all local Home Depots carry Unistrut. It is a hit and miss thing.

You may also want to try plumbing wholesalers, I worked in the inustry in Canada for 15 years and most of them carried it or had access to it.
