Hi,
I'm about to mount my ECP 4500 to the ceiling. I don' have a factory mounting bracket, but have read lots on this forum and plan to use unistrut. I have a couple of things I'd like to check first before I start - I don't want it falling down!
a) Is it correct / ok to suspend the projector off the 4 holes in the base where the feet go?
b) Does anyone know what thread this is so I can order the correct bolts?
c) I'm considering putting a safety chain on it, just in case, can anyone recommend how this can attach to the projector?
I have always found that the blue is out of focus a bit and would like to get this fixed once it's mounted, and maybe calibrate the setup, but I can't afford to buy the colorimeters at the moment. If anyone is in the Birmingham area of the UK who would be willing to help me get the best out of the projector, for a small payment please email me. (username @ gmail.com)
Many thanks
Simon.

I've never mounted an ecp with anything but a factory mount. That being said, the four bolt holes on the bottom should be strong enough to hold it, if you can figure out a way to use them.
Not sure of the threading, but i've bought bolts at a hardware store that worked fine. (used them for feet) Just measure the hole, and buy a couple different bolts to try.
If your blue is out of focus, it could be fungus. You might want to check that out before you hang it on the ceiling.

Thanks.
Please can you give me some details of how the factory mound attaches to the projector? I might then be able to replicate it. I did search but was unable to find details of the factory mount.
I'd intended to screw bolts into the feet holes and then slot the bolts into the Unistrut which will be suspended by threaded rods from the floor joists above.
Best wishes.
Simon

The ceiling mount does bolt into those 4 holes on the bottom of the projector. The mount is in 3 pieces. I think you'll be fine just bolting it to the unistrut.
