I need to add and HDMI or DVI to a BG800 in the cheapest way possible while not buying used equipment.
After talking to Curt I believe my 2 best options are the HD Fury and Gamma X or the HD Fury advanced and Box 1020. Both these solutions address the negative sync issue with the Barco and give gamma control as a bonus.
I am a little confused over 1 issue.
If I run HD Fury and Gamma X do I need to buy another power supply for the HD fury as well as the one that comes with the Gamma X? If this is the case then I'd be best to get the advanced edition HD Fury. Curt told me the basic HD fury needs a power supply due most source devices not having enough output to power the HD fury. The Gamma X comes with a power supply but I'm unclear if this powers the HD fury or just supplies power and cable drivers for the Gamma X and I still need to power the HD fury.
I know both the Box 1020 and the Gamma X have cable drivers so the cable length is not going to be an issue but I am concerned with the actual power supply of the HD Fury.
If the HD Fury/ Gamma X combo is enough without another power supply then this is the best and cheapest solution.

You need the HDFury1 Advanced kit, and the GammaX. Each needs a seperate power supply.
Curt is correct, most devices can't properly power the HDFury, PS3 and Xbox360 do.
The HDFury stuff is on sale right now too. It's a good time to buy.

Use the GammaX if you only have the one source to hook up to the projector. Use the RTC2200 or Box1040 (not Box 1020!) if you have a second component source you want to hook up to the projector.
This is what I do:
PS3 -> HDfury1 or 2 plugged into the RGB input of the RTC2200 (or Box1040)
Satellite HD PVR -> component cables -> component input on the RTC2200 (or Box1040)
This way you get gamma boost for both sources, an automatic switcher, cable driver, sync selection, etc!

I did consider that but I believe you could run into issues with HDCP content not being avail off the analog (component) outputs of the Sat Receiver.
I’m not sure about Bell expressVU because I subscribe to Starchoice but I did receive notification from Starchoice that they will be enabling HDCP. Bell cannot be far behind.

I second the recomendation for the box1040 over the gammaX. Just having the flexiblility to run component video is nice. Plus the Box1040 is a great peice of equipment.

Interesting! Did not know that! Looks like I'll have to add an HDMI switcher if that ever happens. I'm on ExpressVu now.

Yes you can use the Box1040 if the component outputs are active on your Bell box.
