Hi,

On my Barco Graphic 800 I can not reduce the vertical size enough to get 16:9 aspect ratio, input signal is 1080i. Is 16:9 aspect ratio possible on a BG 800 and if so how can I do that?

thanks for any info.

I've been able to do it on my bg808, i'd think they'd be the same but hopefully someone else will know for sure.

Jester - this is something I want to do with my BG1208 but haven't had the time to look into. How is it done?

I just used the vsize adjustment and bumped it down to fit my 16x9 screen. It was super easy. I just wonder if the bg800 doesn't have the proper adjustments.

Some of the earlier Barco 800 didn't have enough v-size adjustment to go 16x9 by default. You need to adjust the two vertical hold controls on the vertical board.

See here: http://www.curtpalme.com/Barco500_Layout4.shtm

One adjusts the size, the other one stops the image from rolling. Adjust the size one down until it fits, then adjust the other if needed. I don't know which is which - doesn't really matter: Turn one a bit and if the image doesn't shrink then adjust the other instead.

I had to do this on my 800 too.

HI Kal

I looked at the service manual for that board but there the two potmeter are described as low freq (37 Hz) vertical hold and high freq (120 Hz) vertical hold and not a vertical size adjustment. The vertical size adjustment are there only for red and blue to align with the green.

But then again this could be for a newer version BG800 so I will give it a try this evening

I also found the H width/linearity coils on page 2, I have some small problems with the convergence in 1024x786 mode, the red can not be move to the left enough and the linearity of the blue is not ok. So I hope that I can adjust that with these coils.

So you led me to the right direction and ( now I know that I have a old version of the BG800) and that I need to use some of the other controls then only the digital convergence.

Thanks so far
