My projector has had a problem of "fading in and out" at random. Now it is happing more than before. The LED's on the rear panel all show everything is fine. The power supplies stay on, just the video fades. Any one have any ideas.

that problem is one of two things. You either have a defective HVPS or one of the neck boards is defective.
If it's the HVPS it will eventually fizzle out. If it's the neck board it'll also get worse, but before that happens, do the following:
- run the set with the contrast set at 80 (brightness 50), select each color at a time (on the remote, press 'color' - 1, 2 or 3) and run the PJ with an image displayed on one of the three colors at a time until the problem shows up.
Do this first by selecting 'color' 1 (red) on the remote. let it run at that contrast level about the same time period that it would take for the image to blank out. if the image does not blank out during the same time period, then select 'color' 2 (green) and do the same thing also checking 'color' 3 (blue).
If the problem happens with all three of the colors being individually displayed, then the problem is the HVPS. If it only happens on one or two of the colors, then you'll need to replace your neck boards. not one but replace them all.

I have seen this problem with AmPro's also as they use Spellman HVPS's as does Marquees. I found that if it was the fault of the supply, it was burned resistors in the G2 circuit within the supply. They would change value as the supply warms up.

If you determine it's the HVPS, I think I still have one in my equipment closet. No one else wanted it because the M8000 HVPS pumps less voltage than the M8500/M9500 HVPS.
