A my friend have a Barco Graphics 808 very fine.
Projector have low hours (700), original parts, etc....
My friend has written to me his problem and I have decided to explain it here.

Massimo wrote:

My Barco 808 introduces a quite annoying problem. Sometimes, during the normal operation or already in boot phase (that is in warm-up screen) it introduces a under focus phenomenon. We tried to replace the following cards: R7621705 (SMPS), R762506 (SMPS+G2), R762503(5) (MAGNETIC FOCUS). Nothing is changed! The flaw occasionally is present. Sometimes, if I turn off and on the projector it correctly works.

Instead, at times, the problem still remain and there is nothing to do! Since I have decided to take a picture in order to show the flaw it hasn't displayed anymore. What's the matter?

Thank you

Domenico

My Barco Graphics 1208 which is very similar did something like this. for a few days or maybe weeks until it completely failed. the problem was in the HV section and it turned out the EHT went out. When this focus problem happens does the picture get a little smaller as well?

Correct. A change in focus can indeed be the focus board, but usually it's HV related. Too much or too little can cause lack of focus, as well as a fluctuating picture size.

The other option, of course, is just to keep the camera nearby so the PJ knows you mean business. Smile

Euphemism, indicating one is serious and including implied violence. In this context, 'means business' is am implicit threat such that the projector will behave as you (your friend) desires. The projector, being inanimate and therefor immune to threats implicit or explicit, makes the above statement a joke.
