Barco 1208 won't sync with RTC2200, Help!

I ran an XBOX360 through component to my new RTC2200 to my Barco 1208, this is a 1994 model, one of the first ones i'm told. I think the Xbox is running 480p but, i have no way of being sure. I have the projector on source 4. the picture is super contorted and goes off and on intermittently while the projector makes that clunking sound like its just been turned on. in frustration i played with the little set screws, not sure if that was a good idea or not, but did not seem to have any effect at all on the behavior of the PJ.
Any Ideas? what can I try?

You need to set the RTC2200 for negative sync.

Sure you do. Hit the TEXT button on the Barco remote to display the horiz/vert frequency of the signal. 480p/60 will be ~30Khz, 60Hz.
