Hi,
I'm a proud owner of Barco Graphics 800 for a month now and everything looks fine. Did the FET replacement (2sk511) and did the soldering of the power supply. The picture is oke but I do not get it to show more then 500 line ( i now use 800x600) which is way to low for a 8" tube if I read al information, it should do 960 line. But if I put 960 on it it gets blurry.
I have check the electronic focus and the optical focus but no luck. The resolution is the same for all tubes (which have litle to no wear, 2500 hours on the tubes).
Does anybody have ideas that I can try?
Thanks for any help.

Thanks for any help. | yes, you need to try a BG808 Serously though, the tube size isn't the determining factor,it's ES focus versus EM focus. You have the older ES technology, not good past 540P IMO.

On ES focusing sets, they start going softer in focus at about 3000 hours of runtime. I've seen 10,000 hour ES focusing tubes with good phosphor but with horrible focusing. If your mechanical astig and focus is set, then that's about as good as you'll get.

One other note. Did you create a new memory block for the 960 resolution and redo focus and geometry for that resolution. A misconverged picture can sometimes give the illusion of bad focus even if the focus itself checks ok.

Also bandwith is limiting factor with 960p, with 60Hz it have 108 MHz pixel clock and 800 have 60MHz BW.
720p should look pretty ok with video, but bit soft with desktop.

Thanks for al the replies.
I will first try macgyver655 idea, i do not know how it works with those block but will find out. Then secondly I will probably go with draganm idea. I will enjoy my Barco Graphics at 800x600 and in the meantime look for an EM/LC pj.
