Have a extra computer. Thinking of hooking it up to my switcher for internet viewing & games

Is that ok to do? Will it hurt the tubes more than normal useage?

How could I hook it up to get sound thru my audio receiver?

Yes it's fine. I liked 1024x768 on my 1252.

For sound just get one of these cables:

I would make the desktop grey and hide the taskbar. You could also turn down the conrast a bit to reduce the chance of burn in. Set your screen saver for 3 minutes and set it to black(blank ) screen.
