So I finally have the rough of my CRT cover. I was inspired to this action by my slightly clumsy 12 year old tripping and bumping it out of focus last weekend. Of course I just finished tweaking it for the umpteenth time Smile And I know the way that boys feet are growing another trip is in the works for him Smile

So to construction, it is a piece of 3/4 oak veneer plywood ($45). Trimmed with repurposed oak 1x4 (free) Topped with a slab of Absolute Black Granite (with copper flake) from my granite supplier $100-I buy from him regularly so I got it below cost. All trim nailed and glued. I will trim it out ( as well as the bar I need to trim out) next week. Then finish sanding, after removing of course, and figure out a finish.

Just thought I would show my little project off. I love the presence in the room. The pictures of course don't do it justice.
