I just ordered one of these for my Netflix account. Anyone ever use one or have any advice on setup?

As I recall it only does 720P ouput. No 1080i ( unless they have updated things recently ). Other than that. No.
Write a review and let us know what you think. What are you connecting it to?

A Samsung LCD HDTV in the living room. The Roku will do WiFi but I think I'm going to run a Cat 5 drop to it. I'll let you know when I get it.

Cool toy. I had a little difficulty with my ISP's DNS servers not wanting to play with it. I had the same problem with both of my Macs. I finally set the DNS servers on my router to public servers and it worked perfectly.
I have a Netflix $8.95 account for 1 DVD at a time plus unlimited online. The picture quality is really good on my Samsung 37" LCD HDTV. I have a chest cold, strep throat, and a sinus infection so I'm staying home for a couple of days. There were no problems streaming from my cable modem even with the HDTV stuff. In fact, I actually stole the orange and green pairs out of my Cat 3 cable and used them to hook it up to my router (I didn't feel like running cable and it was only 35' to my phone system and data closet).
Now, to be sure, I wouldn't use it to show off a perfectly setup G90 at 100" (or even a perfectly setup Barco 708) but it is really good for the price.

Thanks for the update, sorry to hear about the sickness. At least you have some toys to play with.

I agree. I have two. One is for my son's room, the other I had downstairs with the pj until I got the Samsung BR with netflix onboard. I loved the ROKU box, save for having to go reset it to HQ everytime it rebooted or got a software update. My only other beef was I would have been nice to browse titles and add them to the que directly from the ROKU

Never understood why they don't let you browse ALL the PlayNow titles. It is completely stupid to make the user go to a computer to log in and then indivdually add which movies they want to be able to play later on a different device.
Let's go Netflix...get it together!
