I've had my Marquee 8501 up on the cieling for a week or so now learning all the set ups. When doing geometry, I have to adjust the SKEW almost to the limit to squate up the green raster. I don't think the pj positioning would be responsible for this type of distortion, but what could it be? I've been through the mechanical and focus coil adjustments a couple of time now and will be doing it again this weekend so I'm looking for any advice.

Also, while I'm at it this weekend, I'll be doing the flapping again as well. What is the best way to measure the 17mm gap?

Go into the convergence menu, select green service , then press "0" while in a convergence mode. this will clear out the convergence. see if the grid is level. if its not level you need to adjust eithr the focus coil
or adjust the Defection coil.

read this over.

When I zero out the convergence, the raster is level, just skewed more right at the top and left at the bottom (BTW, this is ceiling mounted). I can staighten this out with the skew adjustment, but it's almost maxed. Could this be the scan yoke out of position?

Great article by the way, thanks for pointing it out.

Not sure what you mean here but it sounds like the scan yoke is not on the horizon
as in the tech tip form Tim Martins site.
Can you take a picture of the tube face? even through the lens.... lower the contrast to about 30 for the pic.

I'm not sure if it's a projector problem or something with their owners Laughing I've always felt that Marquee owners were a bit off skew by nature, Especially the ones from NY Wink
