Hi guys.

I have just built a hush box for my 1292 and I am using two 120mm 90cfm 12VDC fans to extract the heat from the box. My problem is that I had planed on hooking up the two external fans in parallel one each with one of the fans already in the 1292 but when I do this the fans in the 1292 that I parallel them with slows down heaps, does anybody know why that is ????

Or even better does anybody know where I can pull 12vdc from that is switched when the projector is turned on and off ???

Thanks in advance

Nathan

If I just tap into the 15.5v line from the power block will this affect other things ??????

The fans will pul a total of about 600mA

Cheers

If the fan slowing down indicates the power supply is being over loaded. Tapping into the projector is not a good idea, the power supplies are not designed to provide extra power. I would recommend using an external power supply to run your fans.

I have a question for you regarding streaking. How bad is the streaking effect on your 1292 ?

Mine doesn't suffer from it much at all. The only time I notice it at all is at the end of the movie when the credits roll on the black background.

And yes you are wright the power drops on the fan that I connect them to. So will have to try and get an old PC power supply and make it triggered through a relay by the fan 12v on the 1292.

Of all the parts of the hush box I thought that this part (the fans) would be the easiest, man was I wrong Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

cheers
