hello all
When I turn on my Barco Graphics 801s the f1 and f2 fuse's blows instantly. I'd tryed too swap the smps with one that works in my BG800, but then nothing happens at all no fuse blows and no led's are on.
I pull allmost all the boards trying too find the problem but can't seem too get out the convergence board.
Hope someone can help me getting it working again.
Michael

There is different fuse sizes for 120V and 230V mains, check if those match your mains.

I'm pretty sure that 800 smps is not working in 801s/808.

To remove convergence board from 801s, it's also needed to open that bolt with knob (or was there two) between tubes. It's next to hv splitter...

If that's not helping it's probably smps. Curt can test/fix it.

hi again
the fuse are the right size 3,15A at 230V.
I thought the smps where interchangeabel as they look allmost identecal, but gess not Confused
I pulled the convergence board (thanks for the help Ile Smile ) and now only one fuse blows at the time.
do this mean that the problem is not just the smps ? or will a repair/ replacment of the smps cure the problem?

Reminds me of a problem I had one time with a GLh turbo omni... One logic module would not work and had a blown resistor... So in my brillance I just swapped in another that I had sitting around. Gee.. that one fryed the same resistor instantly.. Duh.. Rolling Eyes took me almost two days before I figured out that I had plugged the fog light harness into the speed/distance sensor.... Yeah.. I would like to think I have past the point of doing stuff like that... Turns out I have not.. Rolling Eyes Embarassed Laughing Laughing Laughing

Do you have any spare boards. Apart from the SMPS i believe that most of the other boards are interchangeable from the 800.

Pull the convergence board out as the set will run without it. At least you can see if fuses stop poping. Replace the horizontal deflection board and the Horizontal shift board as well as the vertical board with the ones from the 800. They will work but do one at a time so you can determine the problem board. You will of course need fuses. This all presumes that the SMPS is not at fault. Of course if none of the other board replacments solve the problem then the smps may well be the problem.

Good luck.
