It should be possible to get new tubes. The better question is; is it worth it to buy new tubes. The 852 is a Zenith Pro 900x and is a lower end machine, the money you would spend to get tube may be better spent on a higher end machine.
Not trying to say the 852 is a bad machine, but you may be able to get much better for the money.

VDC has them at $165 each. 800-241-5005. Quote the P16 part number off the side of each tube. If you can't change your throw distance to about 20% further back if you go to a higher end set, then retube it. You might even get away with not replacing the red, just change the worn blue and green.

Wow that isn't a bad price at all. I may have to retract my statement about it being cheaper to upgrade. Sounds like a fair price to retube a 1080i LC machine.

How do you figure? It states here the cross reference http://www.curtpalme.com/Runco_Model_CrossRef.shtm .
And here is the description of the Zenith http://www.curtpalme.com/Zenith900.shtm .
| Quote: | | On the plus side, the Zenith tubes used in this set are liquid coupled and are dirt cheap to rebuild/replace and are rated at 800 lumens. These tubes are very reliable and last a long time if the projector is properly set up using the maximum phosphor area possible. |
So the description needs to be changed?

If this thing is liquid coupled, that's big news to me...

It is indeed an LC set. So was the PRO 851, the PRO 880, 881 and PRO 900/895.
Problem is, the lenses are dirt cheap, all plastic, similar to a TAC lens, and the ES focusing tubes on the PRO 851 and earlier didn't focus overly well, and faded over time. Scanning lines are clearly visible at 480p across the room in the middle of a PRO 900, but fall apart at the edges of the image due to the cheap lenses Zenith used.

Any lenses that you can swap in as replacements?
