Very possible. Input B looks exactly like an IFB-12 from the outside appearance. If you want to find out, pull the cards and look for the model number silkscreened on the boards, or take pics for us and post here and we can compare.

Yeah, that's an IFB-12 - Nice IFB card for Sony projectors that was pretty common in the D50/G70/G90 period. I've seen the cards used in other Sony projectors too, including a few digital projectors, and some switchers.
Not sure about the other card, but chances are if it has the same physical interface, it might also work in a newer Sony CRT or switcher.
That what you wanted to know?

Umm, it looks like the CPU panel is very similar to a G90. Is there any chance that there's a surface mount chip in it called a CX305???

Hi Curt,
If I take out the cards would I be able to see that chip do you think ?..or will I have to strip it a bit more thoroughly to see
It looks like the Bottom Board ...looking at the picture of the back panel ..or CPU Board is pull-outable..is it that easy
to pull out ?
Cheers

Heh heh... I can hear the gears turning from here...
Boingo, both those interface cards will accept several flavors of RGB, as well as SD and HD component. You should be good to go with practically anything you want to connect up to that projector: Computer, DVD player, Blu-ray, set-top box... whatever. It should all work fine.

Thx for posting
..so for this projector with the specs it has ..I should be right for 720p etc ? Thinking what AnalogRocks was wondering..the cards can handle HD but can my projector.?!
Do I need to change the DIP switch settings on the IFB12A card each time for accepting for different resolutions ?
If so what settings are for what resolutions ?
Terry, guy's
Ahh I see the thought process here...you guys want the bits from my projector ! ...
Seriously though..Sony made a few of these Stage size model LCD Projectors ..so I guess parts are what you are thinking...you dont see them very often come up for sale as they were expensive for home use and the smaller LCD Projectors were already out..so only stage companies would have them..I believe that this model VPLX2000 was used at the Superdome back in 2000....saying that I got mine for $30 at an auction with 5 other projectors...the VPLX2000 retalied in Australia for 49K in 2000..
I will take a pic..however I looked at the service manual last night and could not find a CX305 that Curt mentioned..still we all are learning I will post later.
Cheers

Hey, my post from hours ago didn't post!
I looked at your speck sheet. You can feed it all sorts of resolutions including the standard high def ones. It should handle it just fine. Also you can do it via component or RGB.

Thx AnalgRocks !
Good news indeed !
So no changes to DIP settings needed on the IFB12A ? is it all autodetect ?
Currently IFB12A
DIP switch set to
1->ON
2->OFF
3->OFF
4->OFF
5->OFF
6->OFF
Attached : PIC of Bottom/CPU board

What signal are you going to run into it? RGBHV or Component? Which source?

AnalogRocks
Well I guess Im asking for all sources..really trying to understand how to connect mixed set of sources.
Say to start with
Progressive Scan DVD - > has HDMI Output and component
then HD Digital set top - >has HDMI output and component
then at some point Blu-ray ?? HDMI ?
I want to be able to connect devices to get the best res picture I can.
Does any video output devices (like above) output RGBHV as standard btw ...Xbox...Wii ??
Thanks for your time
