So today i learned that the hv section of a barco 801 is usually identical to that of the barco 1208! two screws and an EHT swap later and my prized goliath was up and running! This baby was down for like a year and a half and i was reduced to using a 1272. Oh the joy!
Does anyone know if any other parts of these two machines is interchangeable? also i noticed while looking at the blue tube of the 1208 through the lens while playing some video, there were several bright but small amber-ish pin hole size dots on the tube face. my first thought was that there might be some kind of defect on the tube face where the phospher was somehow absent. what do you guys think?

The spreadsheets found here http://www.curtpalme.com/Barco808_Downloads.shtm will give you the part numbers for each part in a Barco projector. Same part number = swapable. That said there isn't a lot more in an 801 that is common with a 1208 but those spreadsheets should tell you what is. As for you tube issue to you see pin holes in the phosphor when powered down? They may be hard to see with the lens on. Or do you see yellow spots in the projected image? (red+green without blue = yelllow). If yes to either then you may have phosphor issues. Are these VDC rebuilt tubes?
