The 1400's not bad. Only issue I've seen with it is that it doens't remmber it's HDMI setting when you cycle the power. SO if yo have it set to 720P or 1080i at power off, then turn it on again it will read the EDID of the HDFury/HDFury2/Moome/JHWM card and see 1080P and you have to go into the menu and set it all over again, by running a composite cable so you can see what you are doing. This was also reported with other Samsung models.

eeew, that seems like a pretty bad bug. Hopefully Dragan is running 1080p so it won't be a problem. I've heard some of the Sammy's had issues. I hate all this plug and play BS. Whatever happened to manual control? When Windows first started plug and play with Windows 95 we actually nicknamed it "Plug and Pray", it was totally un-reliable. HDMI seems to be getting better, but not there yet.

I can tell you the Sony's I've tested DON't have this bug. PS3, BDP-S550, BDP-S300. You set 'em and forget 'em.
I was trying to get a Panasonic BDP30 but, as always the guy on CL didn't reply to me after the first time.

And in doing so you ignored everyone's advice to avoid Samsung for Blu-ray.

My buddy has this player runnign Moome/M8500 and hasn't reported the Resolution switching issue. Is it spossible the moome card doesn't flag the player to it's "native" rez?
Also,I think the 1400 has 6 channel analog out, I would have to spend $350. or more on the Sony BDP-550. to get it otherwise.

I forget, does the 1400 do DTS HD and Dolby HD over the analog ouputs?

Does anyone know for sure? BTW, got the player in like new condition with all accesories. Not bad for $96. even if B-stock. I also bought a 3 x 1 HDMI switch fro ma forum member so I'll have my old HD player hooked up as well.
