Hello,

I have upgraded my CRT and was wondering if there was anyone that might be able to assist me in the setup. The neighborhood is Raleigh/Durham, NC. I have a Runco 980 Super IDTV II but have upgraded now to a G90. I consider the G90 the cherry on top for the HT. I want to setup this CRT versus having a HT company come in and do this one. I will already have the projector installed, I also have all the manuals, remote, and CurtPalme setup CD (from the website) for the Sony G90. I really want to learn how to do this myself but I am not confident to do it all alone. Over the last 2 years, I have done everything myself except the calibration of the Runco. Diner and a Movie? It will be a great. Thanks. My setup is as follows:

Sony G90
Sony IFB-FULLHD: HDMI 1.3 Input Card
Key Digital Video Converter
Denon 4806 Receiver
Sony BDP-S1 Blu-Ray DVD Player
Panasonic DMRES45V DVD Recorder
Time Warner HD Cable
HP Media Center
Boston Acoutics CRB 5.1 Speaker System w/ PV-500 Sub
Stewart Video Matte 200 Screen (105 inch)
Buttkickers and Power Amp
Xantech IR System
Harmony 1000
Monster Power HTPS7000

The easiest way to calibrate G90 by yourself is to follow Kal's guide:

Hello. As far as the entire set-up from scratch, I would recommend a professional especially for a high-end unit as the G-90. You should be able to watch the person and learn from that (for the most part).

The professionals skills are most important when it comes to getting the grey-scale correct. The equipment and training those people have cannot be matched by a diy'er. (IMHO).

Ken Whitcomb did a set-up on my NEC 6pg Xtra and I learned a boat-load from observing. Also, I have had nothing but compliments about how sharp and color correct it is.

Just my thoughts.

Don
