I just traded a Misubishi HC3000 DLP that I had picked up some time ago for under $300 for this HP HDX 9000 "laptop". They say laptop but it has a 20" screen and weighs 15 lbs. I had been wanting to get a computer to play around with as a HTPC and this should be perfect. It has HDMI out, 5.1 audio out, built in HD tuner, s-video out and a removable remote control. Some models came with a Blu-Ray player but not this one. This thing sold new for $3,300 so who says digitals aren't good for something.

Actually, that IS a "laptop". Everybody misuses the term referring to the notebook computers most of us carry around in our little bags and that will fit on an airplane tray table. They're "notebooks" because they're literally the size of a notebook.
The term "laptop" was, until recently, sort of an antiquated term that harkened back to the days of the "laptop" computer that weighed 10 or 15 pounds, had a giant power supply with IEC power cord (or 5-pound brick), and was a giant tank that technically could be held on your lap.
Of course, now with 19"-20" portables, we're back into something that's certainly more appropriately called a "laptop".

Man, that thing is a tank!!! Is that a giant removable remote control next to the trackpad? Looks like a cell phone!

Yes it is. You can turn on and off the computer as well as control video playback features with the remote. I need to mess with this thing to see what it can do.
