Never burned a tube on my Barco's but would this be a good safety switch to add for an emergency ?

What are you planning to use this for?

If its a manual switch, it might be that in most cases by the time you think you want to use the switch its too late. The Barco's have a lot of detection circuitry built-in to attempt to already catch the most basic, common failures that might cause a scan fail and burn a streak across your tube... ouch!

If you want something to kill it while your "pulling maintenance", you can pull the EHT board out....

I wouldn't bother. I've never seen a Barco with spot burn. No wait.. I have... I was playing with a defective neck board the other day, 'fixed' it, and it spot burned my test set. Under normal circumstances I can't see it happening though.
