I have a Moome DVI card installed in my modded-to-the-hilt Marquee 9500LC. My Blu-Ray player is a Sony BDP-S300,
updated to the current firmware level. (Yeah, it's slow to start up, but I don't mind, really.) The S300 has an HDMI output,
and I'm using an HDMI to DVI cable to get the signal to the projector.

I'm also running a backup path of Canare video cables carrying the component signals from the player to the component
inputs of the Moome card, so in the event of an HDMI link failure I still can watch the movie. The priority switch on the
Moome card is set to DVI, so a valid DVI signal takes precedence.

Ever since I've had this setup, there are times when everything works flawlessly at any and all resolutions including 1080P,
and at other times, I don't get an HDMI link at all. Sometimes I've seen an HDCP error message.

And, several times I've experienced a problem where I can get anything EXCEPT for 1080P via the HDMI input, but
I can still view 1080P via the component input.

It seems that on any given day, if I can't make it work right, I never will on that day. But tomorrow it may work
perfectly.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what's going on and how can I fix it?

A few things are certain: I'm keeping the projector! And I don't want to have to buy both a new Moome card and
a new Blu-Ray player. I might buy ONE of the above but don't want to have to replace the whole video chain
just to get a reliable 1080P picture.

hi Chris, you say that the Blu ray player will output 1080p via component? it sounds like that is the problem then. Component should not output 1080p at all, do you have someone with a Blu ray player you can borrow for a bit and test it?

I assure you, the S300 does indeed output a picture via component when it's set to 1080p. However, it appears to only output 1080I at this setting. So my current problem, to clarify, is that I can't get 1080p to work TODAY when I could certainly do it YESTERDAY...via HDMI.

My Moome NEC internal DVI card never worked at 1080p, the best I could get was 1080i. When it was designed there were very few if any 1080p sources. You might email moome for an updated EDID chip, the early cards had a lot of handshake issues. The black levels were pretty messed up too, it was crushed black city.

I've discovered that my cable is marginally too long. Sometimes I do get a 1080p link, and other times I do not.

Using a shorter cable (moving the player to make this possible) results in a reliable link.

My cable in question is 25 feet. It's difficult for me to use a shorter one in my installation and still have the player
in the rack where I want it.
