The P16 tubes that DWIN and later Barco 708/Cine 7 uses are strange beasts. Seems that they show a bit of tube wear earlier than other tubes, similar to the G90 from what I've read. Once the initial bit of wear is on the tube though, they seem to age about the same as other sets.

In DWIN hours, it seems that you're maybe at 1/2 life of the chassis. Since DWINs were only sold to home theater users, your hour count for a 6-10 year old set is about right. I don't think a DWIN in a commercial application of 24/7 would last 50K hours like a Marquee or Barco would. Then again, from what I've seen, I wouldn't trust a Sony G90 to last past 10K hours either chassis wise.

Mind you, maybe I should retract the above. I've never had a G90 or a DWIN that's been run 24/7, so maybe the light bulb theory applies to projectors as well..... leave the set on for 24/7, and they don't fail. a series of 2 hours on, 22 hours off every day leads to failures. SO what do I know? Smile
