Component input errors. Barco 708

When putting the BBC HD channel through from my Virgin V+ box the HD picture is squished to the left. There is 2.5 feet of blank screen on the right. I tried all sorts of adjustments but couldn’t get it to move over. Horizontal phase had reached its limit and it was nowhere near correctly centred. I tried various image size and movement adjustments. Picture from DVD through component is correct.

When putting a DVD in through the component the picture keeps cycling through a red tint to the picture. But I seem to remember this is something to do with Macrovision. Is that right?

Any help appreciated.

I think all european hd boxes have weird porch settings that wont work with all crt projectors. You need scaler to fix porch settings. When hdmi is used with scaler you need also fury or similar hdmi->rgbhv converter before projector.

Macrovision could cause that pulsing effect.
