Recently I noticed my rasters especially blue are staying bright enough to slightly light up my screen when it should be black. ie 0 ire pattern, blank screen between scene changes, no input, picture muting. If I look into the tubes the rasters are quite bright especially blue. Adjusting the G2 pots seems to have no effect on this brightness. I can get the LEDs to go out but the raster is still too bright and cannot be adjusted down. I can make it brighter but not dimmer. Everything looks pretty good when displaying actual video except its a little like watching a LCD projector rather than a CRT as far as blacks are concerned. Is this most likely the G2 board or are there other things that may be causing this?

Thanks, Don

TV/Projector: All of them!

THe blue tube is contaminated, it sounds like. I've seen that in the Sony tubes that the set uses. Nothing you can do except hope that it goes away with use. I am getting a whole lot of BG808s in within a couple of weeks that I will be parting out. Keep an eye out in the buy/sell section for them.

Thanks for the reply Curt. This projector has P16LNP tubes mounted in Barco Liquid-Coupled housings (with Schliemphlug adjustments) Can it be the same problem with them and can you explain "contaminated" a little?

Thanks, Don
