Hi,

My G70 lately was losing Sync on occasion. The PJ would show garbled image or say no input.

Yesterday I started trying to trouble shoot it by writing down the order of what I turned on in which order or whatever and suddenly it shut down with Error 35.

From what I've read here and on AV$,.. it's most likely a fault with the E board. I've reseated it and everything else a few times but the pj won't power up.

So... Any tips? Anyone have a E board to sell? I contacted the fella selling one on Ebay with an offer.

If you read this Curt,... Have any directions for how to proceed? Can I send you the E-board... Would you be interested in trying to repair it? What should I expect?

Thanks and Good Luck,

Brian

Sure, I can repair it. My loaner boards out of my test set are coming back this week, so by the time I get it, I should be able to fire your board up.

Curt,

Can you give me any details or estimates? I have made an offer on a E-board on Ebay which will likely be declined (low ball offer.) But I also have another option for a second hand but tested board.

I can't imagine what the possible cost of shipping the board to and from you +repairs would be but I think it may be more that just buying a tested good board.

Thanks,

Brian

Shipping to Curt really isn't bad as long as what you're shipping will fit in a flat rate box.

A fellow forum member is sending me a board.

Hope this fixes the problem.

Maybe time to get some better test equipment and learn a bit about fixing these things as all these boards have aging components.

Keep in mind there are two versions of E boards, they do not swap. I think you'll get the 35 error code.

Repairs are $250 incl return shipping. Try that other board, but otherwise a repair is in order.

OK....

Thanks.

I'm so glad you're providing services like this.

While I'm waiting with the hush box down.... I took off my lenses to have a look and the tubes are still minty after 2 years of use. I'm so impressed. I got a really strong light and looked at them but no wear at all. Makes me so happy!!!!

This is one of the only hobbies I know of where you can take apart a non working toy and be happy with what you see Laughing
